These MuscleWiki API – Additional Terms of Use ("MuscleWiki Terms") apply to all access to and use of the MuscleWiki API ("API") and its content via RapidAPI. They supplement the RapidAPI Terms of Service. In case of conflict between these MuscleWiki Terms and any other API-specific description on RapidAPI, these MuscleWiki Terms control.
By subscribing to or using the MuscleWiki API, you agree to the following:
1. License & Permitted Use
1.1. Subject to your compliance with these MuscleWiki Terms and the RapidAPI Terms of Service, MuscleWiki grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to:
- Call the API from your own application or service; and
- Display exercise metadata (names, descriptions, muscles, categories, difficulty, instructions) inside your own application or website.
1.2. This license is granted solely for fitness, health, and workout-related applications. No rights not expressly granted are included.
2. Media Content – Strict Restrictions
Video files and bodymap images are the most sensitive part of the API. The following rules apply without exception:
2.1. No Downloading or Exporting
You may NOT download, export, copy, store, or otherwise retrieve MuscleWiki videos, thumbnails, or bodymap images for offline storage, CDN storage, cloud storage, or any use outside transient caching automatically performed by your application or browser.
2.2. No Use Outside Your Application
You may NOT:
- Re-host or upload videos or images to your own servers, CDNs, or social media;
- Use or embed MuscleWiki videos on external platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram);
- Provide direct video URLs to end users in a way that allows downloading or reusing the content.
All video playback must occur directly within your own application using the API-streamed URLs.
2.3. No Scraping or Bulk Export
You may NOT scrape, crawl, harvest, or mass-download videos, images, or video URLs, whether through automated means or manual methods.
3. Caching Rules
To ensure service integrity, caching is allowed only as follows:
- Metadata (text only): may be cached for up to 30 days.
- Thumbnails & bodymap images: may be cached for up to 24 hours.
- Videos: transient caching only (e.g., browser or in-memory playback buffers).
Permanent storage or long-term caching of any media is prohibited.
4. Prohibited Uses
You may NOT:
- Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or expose API data to third parties;
- Build an API or dataset that mimics or competes with MuscleWiki;
- Use any API content to train machine learning models, AI systems, or datasets without written permission.
5. Pricing & Plan Changes
Pricing and quotas are managed through RapidAPI. MuscleWiki may update pricing or plan structures with at least seven (7) days' notice via RapidAPI. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
6. Removal Rights
MuscleWiki may remove any video, image, exercise, endpoint, or dataset at any time for IP protection, compliance, or security reasons. MuscleWiki bears no liability for such changes.
7. Suspension & Termination
MuscleWiki may throttle, suspend, or terminate your access immediately for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to downloading media, scraping, redistributing content, or abusive traffic.
8. Attribution
If the API includes attribution fields or logos, they must remain intact, unaltered, and visible. If you display MuscleWiki exercise data, you must include: "Powered by MuscleWiki".
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The API and all Content are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties, including but not limited to accuracy, non-infringement, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MuscleWiki shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages. Total liability is limited to the API fees paid by you in the previous three (3) months.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MuscleWiki from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your misuse of the API, breach of these Terms, redistribution of content, or any unlawful use.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the Cayman Islands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Cayman Islands.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the full and complete agreement regarding your use of the MuscleWiki API.
