- Stand with a shoulder width grip. Both feet should be on the band with the band looped over both hands.
- Push your butt back and also break at the knees.
- Try to hit parallel depth (bottom of your leg should be parallel with the ground). If you can't tell your squat depth, then try squatting in front of a mirror and watch your form.
- Lay on the pad and grab the handles.
- Slip your legs into the belt loop.
- Push your legs back until they are horizontal with the ground.
- Lower back to the starting position.
- Place your legs on the platform with your feet at shoulder width.
- Release the weight and extend your legs fully, without locking your knees.
- Lower the weight until your legs are at a 90° angle (but DO NOT allow your butt and lower back to rise off of the pad. This will put your lower back in a rounded position, which is very dangerous.)
- Raise the weight back to starting position.
- Stand with feet hip-width apart, barbell over midfoot. Grip the bar wide (outside shoulders), hook grip recommended.
- Keep chest up, back straight, and drive through heels to lift the bar off the ground, keeping it close to your body.
- As the bar reaches mid-thigh, explode upwards by extending hips, knees, and ankles, shrugging shoulders and pulling the bar high.
- Drop under the bar slightly, catching it overhead with arms locked out. Stand up fully to complete the lift.
