Engage your core muscles by pulling your belly button toward your spine.
Slowly twist your upper body to the right, keeping your feet flat on the ground and your back straight.
Hold for a second and then twist to the left, holding for another second.
  • Stand with a plate extended away from your body. Elbows mostly extended.
Rotate at the upper spine while keeping your lumbar spine in a neutral position.
Do not let the plate go behind your body.
  • Stand with a shoulder width stance. Begin with the plate near one of your quads.
Rotate at your upper spine to engage the obliques.
You can pivot your back foot to keep from generating too much torque at the knee.
  • Start by sitting on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Hold a dumbbell in both hands with your arms extended straight in front of you.
Twist your torso to the right, bringing the dumbbell towards the ground, then return to the center. Repeat on the left side, twisting to the left and bringing the dumbbell towards the ground.
Continue this twisting motion, alternating sides, for the desired number of repetitions. Keep your core engaged and avoid swinging your arms to generate momentum.
